Kiwanis International is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time. In 1924 the organization adopted six Objects of Kiwanis International which remain as our guiding principles today:
To give primacy to the human and spiritual rather than to the material values of life.
- To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships.
- To promote the adoption and the application of higher social, business and professional standards.
- To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive, and serviceable citizenship.
- To provide, through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service, and to build better communities.
- To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism, and goodwill.
On March 24, 1975, the Kiwanis Club of Palmer Township was formed with the sole purpose of following the Kiwanis International Principles and to help needy children throughout the Easton Area. In order to do this the club, with a membership of 62 men and women, is involved in various fund raising activities throughout the year (see the other side of this card for some examples). To manage these fund raising activities the club meets every week for fellowship and to plan activities to raise the money needed to support our objectives. We would be pleased to have you join us at one of our breakfasts so you can see first hand the fellowship we share and the fun we have while doing good things for the community. We meet every Wednesday morning at 7:00 AM at:
Williams Restaurant
3630 William Penn Highway
Palmer Township

Palmer Kiwanis sponsors Key Clubs at the Easton Area High School, Wilson Area High School and Notre Dame High School. All three of these clubs are very active in raising funds for various projects and at times assisting our club with fund raising. Our club also sponsors a K-Kids club at the Palmer Elementary School. As a club we are very proud of what these students do to support the principles of Kiwanis.
In 1992 the Kiwanis Foundation of Palmer Township was formed as a charitable organization with the goal of supplementing the charitable interests of the Kiwanis Club. The Foundation is funded by legacies and bequests, contributions from members of the Kiwanis Club, and the general public.
- The following are some of the fund raising and charitable projects we support yearly:
- A Pancake Breakfast held in March/April at the Easton Area High School.
- Annually we hold a Golf Tournament to fund our youth educational opportunities scholarship initiative.
- In August of each year the club participates in the end of summer Palmer Township Community Days at Fairview Park.
- September and October are the Rose Sale months where we sell a dozen beautiful roses as a fund raiser.
- Just before Christmas of each year the club and the Easton Area Key Club put together food baskets that club members distribute to many area needy families.
- On Christmas Day several club members visit residents of the Manor Care Home who normally do not have any family in the area to share Christmas with.
- In May and June the club gives out eight scholarships to graduating seniors from area high schools and the Career Institute of Technology.
Members of the club contribute many hours of their time raising funds with projects like those mentioned above and others. As a reward we gain satisfaction when we present a check to an organization that will use the money to help primarily children in need.
