Each Spring for many years the Kiwanis Club of Palmer Township has had the honor of providing eight $1000 scholarships to two graduating students from the Career Institute of Technology, Easton Area High School, Notre Dame High School, and Wilson Area High School. This year we had the privilege to present scholarships to the following:
Career Institute of Technology: Jorge Luquin is the son of Anayeli Jimnenez and Juan Luquin and his home school is Easton Area High School. Jorge will be continuing his education at Northampton. Community College majoring in technology security. Adam Al-Awamleh is the son of Sara Flynn and his home school is also Easton Area High School. Adam will be continuing his education at Lehigh County Community College majoring in electronics technology.
Easton Area High School: Lauren Gallagher is the daughter of Stephany and James Gallagher. Lauren will be continuing her education at the University of North Carolina and Duke University majoring in neuroscience tied in with computer science on a premed track. Natasha Montesdeoca is the daughter of Mario and Iraida Montesdeoca. Nataha will be continuing her education at the University of Pittsburgh Honors College majoring in business and marketing.
Notre Dame High School: Sarah Andreano is the daughter of Laura and Michael Andreano. Sarah will be continuing her education at Newman University majoring in Marketing Sports Management. Paige Hittenger is the daughter of Lisa and Grant Hittinger. Paige will be continuing her education at Misericordia University majoring in Occupational Therapy.
Wilson Area High School: Ainsley Rush is the daughter of Kathleen and Matthew Rush. Ainsley will be continuing her education at Slippery Rock Honors College majoring in History. Amanda Koehler is the daughter of Beth Knickerbocker and David Koehler. Amanda will be continuing her education at Moravian University majoring in music and psychology.
Each of these students have maintained full schedules through high school along with being in many different activities and community service. The members of Palmer Kiwanis wished them luck in their future endeavors.
